William "Billy" Edgerson

William “Billy” lived his entire life in the city of Chicago, Illinois. born on June 9,1960 to the union of Mrs. Lillie Pearl Humphrey-Edgerson/Mr. William Owen Edgerson at Illinois Research Hospital located on the west side of Chicago. He became the last of 9 siblings living in a two flat at 1821 South Sawyer St.

Billy was educated in the Chicago Public School system. His education consisted of grammar school [Cook Elementary/Auburn-Gresham area] and Metro High School, previously located at 220 South State St. downtown Chicago.

As a young child, Billy was confident and a problem solver and loved constructing model cars and trucks. Loved racing cars and trains.

As he grew older, Billy took on various jobs in the graphic arts field at various companies, helping design the likes of “business cards”, “corporate posters” etc.

Billy loved to cook dishes, such as various BBQ meats and vegetables, Deep Fried Turkeys, etc. He was a handyman, an advocate sportsman [favorite sport team Chicago Bears L.A. Lakers], to name a few. He never met any strangers. He had an active social life. Often invited to events where he may not have known many people and loved to be the center of attention.

William accepted Jesus Christ, as his Lord and Savior and was baptized and joined the “Consuming Fire Ministries Church”, under the pastorage of Apostle Dorothy Jacobs and served on the praise and worship team as the percussionist and sound engineer.

William [Billy} became ill in March of 2020 with a stroke. He entered eternity on Monday, August 31, 2026, at 3:24 am.

William [Billy] was preceded in death by his parents William Owen Edgerson [January,1997} and Lillie Pearl Humphrey-Edgerson [January 2013], his siblings: Cheryl Edgerson, September 1997, Clevon Edgerson-Pran December 1997 (Peter Pran-July, 2017), Owenette Edgerson, August 1998, Amelie Edgerson-Miller, December 2015 (Herbert Miller, October 2019) and Deanna Edgerson, May 15, 2021… Nephews: Travis Edgerson-Albert, June 1997, and Sean Toy J Miller, February 2019.

He leaves to cherish three siblings: Renee Edgerson, Regina Edgerson and Cynthia LaRita Edgerson. Nieces and Nephew: April Miller, Sherrell Edgerson, Nicholaus Joseph Edgerson- and Timothy Levystein a Grand Niece: Raven Grant

His best friend/brother: Jose D. Anderson, and friend Derreck Lewis and a host of cousins, family and friends.
