Mildred Rae Davis-Burton was born 11-8-1934 in Nacogdoches Texas. She was the youngest of sixteen children to Henry and Frances Davis, who preceded her in death.
Mildred graduated from C L Simon High School in Cushing Texas where she loved to write and play basketball.
As a child Mildred loved to communicate and help people from all walks of life. She was always a fearless leader, especially when it came to her family.
During her early adult life she later relocated from Nacogdoches Texas to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and then to Chicago, Illinois. She accepted Christ under the leadership of Elder Harold R Gumm Sr. of Shiloh Apostolic Lighthouse church located in Chicago Illinois. Due to relocating to the West and South side of Chicago, Illinois, Mildred was under the leadership of Bishop Charles & Mattie Poole of Bethlehem Healing Temple and Pastor Henry Robinson of New Jerusalem Pentecostal Church.
After relocating to the far side of Chicago, Illinois Mildred and her children became members of True Holiness Pentecostal Church under the leadership of Pastor Florence Nixon. Mildred served faithfully in the following ministries; Sunday School Teacher, Missionary Chairman and Evangelism.
So many years later Mildred was elevated to Pastor. Mildred and her husband were granted permission by Pastor Florence Nixon to start their own church in their home located in Bolingbrook Illinois. New Life Apostolic Church!
She attended Moody Bible, Trinity Bible and Enoch Bible school for completion of ministerial studies.
Pastor Mildred Burton was dedicated and passionate about the elevation that God had given her. Pastor Burton and Deacon Burton were always opening up their home to others that needed a place to stay and giving to others who were less fortunate, even when they didn’t have enough.
Pastor Mildred Burton loved teaching and ministering to others about one God’s goodness and serving God wholeheartedly. Though there were some life challenges the years, she would always say my God is ever so Faithful.
