Pastor Gloria M. Entoe

Assistant Pastor Gloria Mae "Glory Jean" Entoe was born on March 23, 1952, in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, to the late Lorene Leonard and Mose Brown, As the second oldest of eight children. Gloria embraced responsibility from an early age. She lovingly supported and helped care for her siblings and assisted her mother in raising and nurturing the family. This servant's heart would become one of the defining qualities of her life.

Gloria received her education at Hendrix Grade School and attended Englewood High School in Chicago Illinois. With determination and perseverance, she later returned to complete her education and proudly earned her high school diploma with the Class of 2003, where she was asked to be the commencement speaker and her speech shook the place. This accomplishment reflected her strength, resilience, and belief that it is never too late to accomplish a goal.

Throughout her employment years, Gloria displayed dedication, compassion, and a strong work ethic. She was employed by Union Carbide, Clark Gas Station, the Board of Elections Commissioners, Help at Home, The YMCA, and Harvest Christian Book Store. In every position, she served others with kindness, integrity, and excellence.

In 1981, Gloria accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior and began a lifelong journey of faith and ministry. She faithfully served at Evangelistic Crusaders Church of God in Christ under Pastor George Liggins as a missionary. She later joined St. John Church of God in Christ under Elder Isaiah C. Grover, where she faithfully served for a while in the choir.

God continued to elevate her ministry, Gloria helped establish One Sent ministries and later helped established Consuming Fire Ministries, where she was installed as Assistant Pastor in 1992 under Pastor Dorothy Jacobs. Throughout her years of ministry, her God given talents were used to faithfully serve on the Praise and Worship team as well as one of the Lead Vocalist, Bible Study Teacher, and Treasurer of the church.

Gloria was a true prayer warrior and a prophetic woman of God. She was diligent, courageous, anointed, and brave. She spoke truth in love and dedicated her life to serving God's people. She persevered in ministry praying, teaching, encouraging which touched countless lives and inspiring others to walk in faith.

Gloria was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, friend and Pastor. Her compassion and willingness to help others were evident throughout every chapter of her life.

Beyond ministry, Gloria's vibrant personality brought joy to everyone who knew her. She was outspoken, funny, and full of life. She had a beautiful sense of style and carried herself with elegance, confidence, and grace. She enjoyed singing songs such as "The Anointing" and "You Can Make It" and found joy in being called a painted doll. Her laughter, strength, faith, and loving spirit created memories that will continue to live on forever.

Gloria is preceded in death by her beloved mother, Lorene Leonard; her siblings, Joyce Scott, Sherry Leonard, Marilyn Leonard, Tim Leonard, and Carl Leonard; and her beloved nephew, Eric Entoe.

She leaves to cherish her precious memories her loving daughters, Alaina C. Entoe-Smith (Robert) and Shea Anderson; her grandchildren, Loren M. Burks, Jordan K. Anderson, Karlin J.A. Entoe and Jalen K. Anderson (Chantel); her great-grandchildren, Wynter K. Anderson, Kaiden and Syyear Fears, her surviving siblings, Robert Leonard (Tina), Michelle Leonard, Clarence -Brother in love, Jose Anderson. Known as WillyB (Sylvia); one Godson, Nichols Bradley, her special daughters, Kela Smith and Karen Garrett; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family members, church family, cherished friends, and all whose lives were touched by her love, faith, and service.
