Edna Mae Adams, 88 of Chicago Illinois passed away June 30th, 2026, with family by her side.
Edna has a selfless soul; she was by your side at the drop of a hat, supporting many; she opened her home if you needed a place to stay.
Edna was born June 10, 1938, in Memphis, Tennessee to Charles and Nancy Osborn who preceded her in death: along with both husbands Chester Winn and Harold Adams and her all siblings Sonny, Junoir, Dorothy and Cleo. Edna was the youngest
Edna attended Booker T. Washington High School in Tennessee. After high school Edna worked as a model for various Tennessee Social Clubs. Edna met and married Chester Winn.
Edna relocated to Chicago, IL with her son Tyrone. In Chicago Edna met and married Harold Adams. and her family continued to grow Edna worked for Chicago Health Department for twenty-five years, after retiring from CHD Edna worked at several Funeral Homes in the Chicago area.
Edna has a selfless soul; she was by your side at the drop of a hat, supporting many; she opened her home if you needed a place to stay. Edna provided comfort to the sick, a smile to the sad and a push when needed and a good word to the lost. Her favorite saying was “The Goodness of God, The Faithfulness of God and the Love of God”.

Edna was known as second mother to youth on Oakwood Blvd., partially the Brown family, she helped school them on social etiquette. Edna made dresses for the girl’s prom and graduation for part-time income. Edna was a loving neighbor and mother; she took care of her family. Edna will be forever remembered for her kind and giving heart.
Edna was preceded in death by her parents, her siblings, husbands, son:
Harold Adams Jr. She leaves to cherish her memories, her sons Tyrone (Virginia) Adams, Danny Adams. Grandchildren; Danny Jr., Dionte, Destiny, Christopher and Harold, Great Grandchildren, nieces; Anne Beatty, Frances Williams, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
