Betty Jean Young union of the late Hortense and Judge Walker. She was fifth in the line of nine ( née Walker) was born in Chicago, IL on July 4, 1932 to the
children. All of her siblings Arnita, J.W., Bernice, Grace, Marion, Shirley, Alden, and Jeannette who preceded her in death and were welcomed into the arms of the lord.

She accepted Christ early in life and joined First Church of Deliverance under the leadership of Rev. Clarence H. Cobbs. There she joyfully sang in the choir, served as an
usher, and was a member of Group 49. Betty was a giver and loved to be of service. Throughout her life journey Betty touched many hearts, she was a nurturer as well as a caregiver and was known by everyone simply as "Momma". For years she worked at Mary Alyce School supporting children with special needs. Betty's role at Mary Alyce seemed less like a job and more of a calling. Her kindness and loving nature was shared with all those around her.

As God saw fit for her to receive as much love as she gave, Betty met and married James D. Young, and from that union 7 children were produced: Shaun '''Penny'' Walker,
Tanya Olds (James), Janet Leslie (Cornell), Bonita Lipsey (Robert). She was preceded in death by her three youngest children James Young Jr., Lisa Young, and Terrance Young.

On Saturday April 24, 2021 God declared that her work was good and called her home. She leaves to mourn her passing four daughters, twenty-six grandchildren, sixty-five
great grandchildren, twenty great-great grandchildren, one sister in-law Catherine Ali, sister in Christ Loretta young, a host of nieces, nephews, and beloved family and
friends.
